Put most of the photos up...had to transfer some to my laptop and haven't gotten all of them off it yet...hopefully the link works. All the photos are in sub-galleries...

jm21-2/texas - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Part of my trip I kept forgetting to get new batteries for my camera, so there aren't many pictures...had just enough juice to turn on and take a shot now and then.

Those are some great pics. But, DEAR GOD!! -- Is that the Rose Garden?! I wonder why they dont just close it during the fall/winter months. They look horrendous. But the other pics are terrific.

About the pictures of Longview, I just had 30 minutes or so waiting around because I didn't realize Dudley's didn't open until 5. Didn't mean to imply they were typical.

And ya, the rose garden wasn't much to look at, lol. But the Portland one is still open (I'm pretty sure) and even less to look at really.

I definitely got the hint that certain parts would be much prettier outside the winter months...go figure. heh.

I appreciate your willingness to share your experiences with us. You saw places that several of us locals have never seen, or have only driven through over the course of 20 -30 years.

Keep us posted on your future travels.

Observation: I said "old south," as one previous poster said "old west." It seems you read "old south" to mean something bad, but not "old west."

Heritage, not hate bro. Cool your jets.
