Default What does anyone know about Kermit, TX?

My new job will take me Kermit about twice a month (from El Paso). I know there's a large tank with Kermit the Frog on it, but that's about all I know. Anyone with the 411 on Kermit?

Kermit is a small west Texas town. Ranching and Oil are it's reasons for existing. Not a whole lot there. I haven't been there since 1993.

My sister and her husband lived in Kermit a short time in the mid-50's. I have been through a few times since; and, to me, it seems to be stuck in the 50's. Not much new or exciting. Monahans, as I remember, is near it and a little bigger and has a few more things going for it.

Kermit is really, really small. Not much to do if you're looking for fun. Odessa and Midland are about an hour away (to the east) if you're looking to go to clubs, go out to eat, sporting events-stuff like that.

Nothing in kermit just an old oilfield town if your looking to do anything you need to come alittle more east to the Midland or Odessa area. Sorry but there is nothing to do in this area but eat drink go to the movies - ice skate at the mall in Odessa or play a round of golf

The best Mexican Restaurant in Kermit is called Donburrito located at 500 E. Austin St.
I like the beef enchilada dinner myself. I was there 1.28.06 coming from Dallas & The Roy Orbison Museum on my way to The West of the Pecos Museum in Pecos FBI — Federal Bureau of Investigation Homepage which is IMHO, Texas' Best Museum. I told the curator lady this & she thanked me!!
