Interesting. I wonder why the specific Hill Country region became so famous when similar geology and vegetation continue so much further north.

Graham is actually my hometown, so I'm probably a little partial, but I think it is a wonderful place. It has a slow pace, but it is an attractive, classy town and the landscape around contains a lot of hills and a few lakes. It has great small town charm. It's not what I would consider an exciting place, but if you're looking for a quiet getaway it's a great place to be. There's a downtown square with shopping, several dining options, close to lakes (the largest being Possum Kingdom) that provides water sports and hiking, a historic movie theater, and a still operational drive in movie theater. A few miles outside of town is Wildcatter Ranch, which is a high end resort ranch with a hotel, steak house, and activities such as horseback riding, canoeing, and archery to name a few. There are several events that take place on the downtown square in Graham exemplify small town charm. We just had the downtown Christmas stroll and parade this week, complete with Graham's first ice skating rink (artificial ice considering it's too warm for actual ice). In June is the Food Truck Championship of Texas, there's a big fourth of July celebration during the morning of the 4th, and in September there's something called Western Heritage days. There's also an event in the spring called Cars and Stars that includes a classic car show on the square followed by a classic movie at the drive in with all the old cars. Throughout the year there are red dirt concerts, rodeos, and motocross events. There are several other things to do around Graham also, and I'm sure if you take the time to look into it, you'll find something here you can enjoy. The people here are friendly and honest, and I think you will find it a pleasant place to visit.
