Relocating to Segoville
Hi, we are relocating to Segoville and are trying to find the best place to buy a home. We prefer small communities with a country feel. The job is in Segoville so we'd like a commute of no more than 30 minutes. Thanks!

Go out towards Rockwall, Terrell, Kaufman. Just further east or even a lil north of Seagoville.

Rockwall to Seagoville will be a long drive since there is no direct route. Look at Combine, Crandall, Scurry-Rosser and Kaufman. Those are a lot closer and much easier to get to. Plus, they are nice!
Will you be working for the BOP? I ask because there aren't many jobs in Seagoville worth relocating for...

You must be going to be working for the Federal penitentiary. That's about the only large place with a large amount of employees that anyone would be wanting to move to Seagoville for. I will never understand why the City of Seagoville has a sign in a grassy area that says "Welcome to Seagoville - City of Opportunity" with the Federal penitentiary looming in the background. I always thought that sign was so funny. I lived in Seagoville back about 10 years ago and there really was nothing special about the place. Even the surrounding areas have grown up so much it's not "country" enough for my taste anymore. If you are willing to travel about 30 minutes to work and back home I would recommend Forney, Texas. It's north of Seagoville. My son and his family have a gorgeous home on an acre lot there. They also have great schools in Forney. Even have a dress code for ALL the kids. They all wear khaki slacks/skirts and knit "Polo" type shirts in varying colors chosen by the school district. Have nice shopping in the area as well.
With all that said, welcome to the area. Glad to have you. I'm sure you all will find the perfect place.

There is a sign off the road that also says "Do no pick up hitchhikers" I can't help it but laugh every time I see it because it feels like they wanted to say "especially if they're wearing striped or orange clothes" ;-)

Crandall would be a much better choice than Seagoville. Unless your idea of living is an old trailer park, you might want to look further down the road.
