Default looking to relocate

I am a mother of four looking to relocate as my youngest will be going off to college in a couple of years. I live in Columubus, Oh and I just cant stand the winters anymore so I looking to move to a place that it does not snow, or at least so little that driving in bad weather is not an issue.
Here's what I'm looking for in my new town;
coffee shops
neighborhood taverns
organic markets
book stores
lots of sunny days
low humidity
"B" movie theaters
nearby hiking and bike paths would be nice
safety/low crime (of course)
and of course, little/no snow

Any ideas???

It sounds more like AZ is calling your name. 2/3 of TX has high humidity. I've lived here most of my life and that's what everyone tells me. Other than that....we may be your place...we have everything else on the list.

sounds like Austin to me. It is hot and humid here, though. Not as bad as Houston or South Texas, but if you want some scenery close by, and to live in a "green" city, Austin is the best bet. It is getting so crowded here, though. Housing is getting expensive, especially if you want to live within walking distance of the places you spoke of. Your best bet is to try North Austin or South Austin, because central is really congested.

San Angelo/Abilene would be a good choice.

You can find all of that and more in Austin. I have lived in south Texas all of my life and I have never noticed the humidity. There are tons of local coffee shops, amazing bike and running trails (by Town Lake), etc. I would definitely consider it!

You don't notice the humidity because you are well-acclimated to it.

I lived in McAllen one summer, and attended PanAm (don't know what it's called now).....the humidity nearly killed me.

I got back to West Texas...and noticed the dry air right away.

To someone not used to humidity, the valley is extremely humid.

i would consider Austin as South Central Texas, definitely not South Texas. the humidity in South Texas is brutal...much worse than Austin or anywhere in the Cen-Tex

I agree with bellestaroftexas - Austin or anywhere in central Texas, but NOT anywhere south of San Antonio.
