William "Rooster" Andrews, the 5-0 tall Woodrow Wilson product who became a larger-than-life University of Texas institution, died Monday in Austin. He was 84.

His brother, former Texas quarterback John "Bunny" Andrews, said Rooster died of respiratory failure at about 2:30 p.m. at an Austin assisted-living facility. At his side was wife and Woodrow sweetheart B.J., who married Rooster in 1947.

Wow. He was a legend. When in Austin, I always stopped by his store to get whatever items I needed. Always a great selection, and he would never settle for less. No doubt, he will be missed.
