Question Relocating to College Station

Hello!

I am looking into moving to College Station to attend Texas A&M. I need to know where some of the best places are to rent apartments and/or townhouses that are close to the university. Can anyone give me a hand?

Thanks!

Default RE: College Station

Housing is abundant in Bryan/College Station. Of course, the closer you are to the University, the more you will pay. Try craigslist-there are a lot of listings on there right now.

I lived there for years, and had no trouble finding good housing. Try to stay in College Station, though, instead of Bryan.

Good luck!

I lived along Spring Loop. It was dirt cheap and still is. Two miles from A&M. $550 for a 2/1.5, and nice too. The downside is that it is close to a waste plant that would vent every week at around 1am.

I also lived around 2818 and Welsh for a few months. That area was even cheaper, but about 4 miles from the school and not quite as nice. Possible HUD.

My girlfriend at the time as well as one of my buddies lived across the street from the mall (Harvey/6). That was about as cheap as Spring Loop, but they had rat problems. But that was 2001. From '99-01 it seemed many parts of town including the school had serious rat problems. I think it was due to construction, though.

You might also try reading some of the reviews on apartment ratings sites such as
