Sugar Land had more character 15 years ago, before all the new generic development came up everywhere. The area I'm talking about is the forgotten area, where the streets are numbered by the train tracks, St. Theresa's church, painted murals on the bridge over the creek, and the now-defunct sugar mill. Oh well.

Tom DeLay was from Sugar Land. I never liked him, so I always figured that was all the info I needed to know that it's not my kind of place.

Now that the last congressman from my hometown is sitting in Federal prison, I've begun to think that maybe it's unfair to judge a place by its member of Congress.
