Wink Possibly moving to Spring Texas...need info

I'm possibly moving to Spring Texas with my husband mid next year. We currently live in CA and are actually going to TX in two weeks. At that time we plan on looking at new home developments and I just wanted some opinion about areas in Spring. I somehow fell under the impression that houses west of the 45 are nicer and have better value than the houses east of the 45. I know one of the main differences is the school districts. I believe the new houses being built on the east side of the 45 are in the Conroe ISD....is this a good school district? Is it comparable to the Klein ISD? Also, are there big differences in surroundings....I guess what I'm asking is if one side is significantly nicer than the other? Thanks!
