Right. What does Nevada produce of note that calls on them to store nuke waste underground? Hmmm, nothing. I'll take a little CO2 as a trade-off to keep the trees out front green, even if birds stay in them just to crap on my truck.

You just can't satisfy those NIMBY types. All that NIMBY stuff gets pushed off somewhere else and they still complain about it.

All that being said by OP, it's funny to find that Texas is still growing at a lot faster rate than say...Massachusetts.

I'm surprised education spending wasn't rehashed. Granted, some very haughty folks on both coasts like to tout those figures, despite their lousy education systems. Oh well.

I didn't enjoy the fact a lot of people expected you to speak spanish. Some even said spanish should be required for us English speaking americans. I think not. If I wanted to move to Mexico, I would learn spanish. If you wanted to move to America, you need to learn English.
You need to learn history.

Why?

The poorest area in Texas is the Border region from Del Rio to Brownsville and each county is around 90% Hispanic.

Is it racist to point out facts?

Starr County, Texas is the second poorest county in the united states and is 95.7% Hispanic.

South Texas Counties Among Highest Rates of Uninsured in Nation

Two South Texas counties have among the highest rates of people without health insurance in the nation, with working Hispanic men in South Texas the most likely to not have coverage, according to data released by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Hidalgo County has the highest rate among urban counties at 38.9 percent, and Maverick County has the highest rate among medium-sized counties at 35.1 percent.

I really don't want to open up the "English only" debate, but somebody brought up the Mexico-Spanish US-English-only thing. I just wanted to point out there is an obvious historical reason that a lot of native people in Texas speak Spanish. And these aren't illegal immigrants.

But so many do not speak English, that is is hindering hundreds of thousands of otherwise good people from moving ahead socially and economically. For the most part business is still done in English in Texas (one exception of course are the annoying recordings telling you to press 2 for Espanol). They are isolating themselves and in many cases, just "getting by".

One of the things you can count on lefties always doing when attacking red states is failing to mention it is their political pet demographic groups that are the cause of the problems. The blue states with few social problems that the lefties all love to tout tend to be lily-white.
