I lived in Missouri for 12 years and never saw anybody watching games in their garage
Moved to San Antonio and then Texas and seems like every other person watches games in their garage

What's the reason for this?
They can watch games anywhere they want
My only issue is that I can clearly hear them yelling from my house everytime a team scores.

Maybe it's a Houston thing
In my block there's at least two different houses that seems like people use their garage as a living room, because they spend most of the day in it.

I've never seen anyone watching a game in their garage. Sorry - can't help you.

Easier to clean messes up off of a concrete floor, might be smokers, might be louder than their SO wants inside?

It must be a Houston thing because I see it all the time too. Very strange.

Guy down the street rolls out a massive TV into his driveway, fires up the smoker and/or grill, and has most of the neighbors coming and going all day. He has a couch and chairs in his garage, but doesn't actually watch it in the garage. A social sort of thing. But really, not much in the way of noise except on rare occasion.

It's common in League City. Also I went to a relatives house in Pearland during an NFL game, and it seemed his entire street was a garage party. It's just another form of 'man cave.' Heck I would do it myself, but that is a big project, and I am a bit loaded down with projects right now. It's a trend no more than people buying overpriced ipads or overspending at Starbucks. Nothing more or less.

I've seen it in Austin. I agree with the "Man Cave" idea. In California (haven't seen it here in Texas yet.) there were several families in our neighborhood from other countries. They often made a full kitchen in their garage to accommodate large family meals. Most just had a table, chairs and a fridge out there, but several had a oven/stove set up in the garage.
