If you're in San Antonio, you can't go wrong with a burger from Chris Madrid's.

I want to try that place next time I'm in San Antonio. There use to be (still is?) a local chain in SA called Chesters, they had good burgers. I like Burger House here in Dallas.

Fuddrucker's used to be pretty good but the local one we go to lately has not been as good--don't know if it is the meat or the kitchen but...
Kincaids in Southlake off 1729 and in FTW is really good--greasy maybe for some people--but meat has flavor and it is cooked like you order...can get Bluebell shakes as well I think
used to be great hamburger place at meat market grocery store in Houston we went to years ago--can't remember the name now--don't know if it is there
and for fast-food... Whataburge is just what a burger should be...

Yeah, I've noticed they vary ... the one in Grapevine next to Grapevine Mills is awesome... consistently! Same with the one in Kingwood, TX. But, then again, the one in Irving Mall in Irving is the nastiest, grossest place I've ever seen! Yuckola!

OK, Case44, I've been wondering when you were going to start this thread. The best burger I've eaten out in a long time was at a tiny liitle place by the courthouse in Cleburne called Burger Bar. I think they were mentioned in Texas Monthly or maybe it was Texas Highways, anyway they were included in the top 10 best burger places in Texas. I wll have to agree.
Big Al's Drive-in in Arlington used to be one of the best, but they tore it down to put a McDonald's in it's place. Go figure. I understand there is a new place in north Arlington called Big Al's, but it not the same. Well, things change.

Petty's Steak and Seafood in Lindale, Texas. Good patty-melts too!

Fuddrucker's is the best, followed by Chili's......they both once had an awesome green chile cheeseburger that is no longer on either menu at the present time.

You've got to try the burgers at Blackbeards on SPI, these are the best in Texas.

Oh yeah, and you need to get a big pile of onion rings to go with them.

Welcome to Snuffers Restaurant & Bar - Located in Dallas Metroplex. (broken link) original location on Lower Greenville Ave in Dallas. I've been going there since it opened in the late 1970s.
