I think they were mentioned in Texas Monthly or maybe it was Texas Highways, anyway they were included in the top 10 best burger places in Texas. I wll have to agree.
Big Al's Drive-in in Arlington used to be one of the best, but they tore it down to put a McDonald's in it's place. Go figure. I understand there is a new place in north Arlington called Big Al's, but it not the same. Well, things change.

Now, lonestar, I wasn't quite made to be figured out.
In all seriousness, I'm glad this was worth your wait.
My second favorite is a place I haven't really been to in a while, but they are delicious. In Dallas, there's a place called Balls Hamburgers. Great char-broiled taste. They've got two locations, but I usually go to the one on Midway. And lately, I've been taking a liking to Back Yard Burgers, also in Dallas, the location on Central. They, too, have terrific char-broiled burgers.

When I get back to visit EP, I'm going to make it a point to try Hudson's Grill. They are said to have some good burgers.

Do You Remember McClesky's?

Hey, car, I once had a favorite in Austin about ten years ago. It was McClesky's on North Lamar near Rundberg, but it has long since closed. They did everything homemade, including the buns. I still remember Cactus Pryor doing commercials for them on 590 KLBJ and I could hear those ads all the way from Dallas. That's how I found out about that place. And it was wonderful. At the time, that was the best burger in Austin.

More on Burgers
Here's my list:
I agree about Little Red Barn in Round Rock!
Easley Steak house in Canton (better than Dairy Palace, I think!)
Maggie's in Edom on Highway 64, on the way to Tyler
There's an old bowling alley and cafe in Bastrop--great burgers there
Mel's in Tomball
I also like burgers at Roadhouse and Saltgrass Steakhouse
Buns over Texas, Mesquite's, and Homeplate Diner in Lubbock
ETBC in Mineola (they make home fries and awesome homemade potato chips)
We need to do this about Mexican Food.......
