Walmart neighborhood is about to open on north university drive in Nacogdoches and I am happy because I don't have to go up north to the other locations and this one is close to me.

What's up with Walmart? Just recently they were closing down stores all over the place it seems. I think they just like to open and close stores.

I saw that on tv but the mistake they made was putting supercenter in towns of 5,000 people which don't make sense to me.

Heck, they put a superstore in the town where I used to live which was population about 1200 at the time. Both grocery stores and most of the mom & Pop's in town closed within a few months. Now there's virtually nothing there but the Valdemart.

I'm not sure what Walmart is doing with these Neighborhood markets. Texarkana has two Super Centers, and last year they opened three neighborhood markets in the city as well. Out in more rural parts of the area they opened 5 additional Neighborhood markets, which drove some small town grocery stores out of business, then they closed those rural town Neighborhood markets less that a year after opening them. So now that the small town grocery stores have closed, everyone has to drive into the city to the Super Centers or Neighborhood markets. I'm not sure if it was a bad move to put these stores in smaller towns, or if it was intended to just kill off the grocery competition and drive business to the Super Centers or what.
