I was wondering Texas is known for early marriages, big families and big religion.

Are there any neighborhoods of any cities in Texas that have a large population of single guys?

I live in Phoenix and lived in Las Vegas which are two major metropolitan areas that I haven't seen a neighborhood with a large population single guys.

Is Texas similar or are there enclaves of singles in Houston, Dallas, Austin?

Why single men. What "flavor" do you need. lol. Houston, Dallas, Austin have larger area of gay guys, but I think you would know that.

I am a single man and live in Midland-Odessa which has a decent population of us since the oilfield has been historically male dominated but I am looking to leave in a few years for places that have more girls.

If you go to the City-Data data pages for any city http://www.city-data.com/

and scroll down to a link similar to this one: " Austin, TX residents, houses, and apartments details " click on it and go to that page, then scroll down to the chart "Distribution of Resident's Ages", you will find a chart similar to this one for Austin. It tells you a lot about the availability of other singles for your age group in that community.

Correction.... it tells you about the availability of males versus females in the community. It does not distinquish singles from married's, etc. But it is a good starting point.

Agree about the Midland-Odessa, because of the oil fields- they're well-paid too. Any of the cities that have big universities (Austin, Lubbock, Houston) will have large numbers of men yet to be married, both of college age and young professionals.

If you scroll further down on that page to the charts labeled "Marital Status for Males" and "Marital Status for Females". The charts do a pretty good job of displaying the percentages of single, widowed and divorced people in each age group, in the community.

It would be easier to target a city and then join a singles club for your age preference or whatever other preferences you have. There are tons in Houston, so I am sure there are tons in Dallas and Austin. Neighborhoods change a lot. At least the desirable ones do, so discovering an enclave of single men, with your preferences, is going to be like catching lightning in a bottle.

Huh, interesting up-tick in the percent of males and females over age 85 that have never been married. Must be bad for your health to get married .
