Help! Moving to Beeville
My husband is taking a new job assignment in Beeville. We don't know anything about the town and would appreciate any info. Is it a safe place to live? How's the housing? How are the schools? Anything good within daily driving distance. I know San Antonio and Corpus are nearby, but that would be for the weekends. From what I've seen so far on-line, the homes and apartments in the area look a little rundown and ugly. If I have to live in the middle of nowhere, I would at least like a decent home. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I have family in Beeville, but never really spent much time there. I've always just thought of it as a small farming based town. As far as I know, It's a very safe place. Beeville isn't one of those Texas towns thats been discovered by transplants yet, so may be why you aren't finding much new construction.

there are alot of rental homes in a subdivision called Capeville or Capehart something right in Beeville. it was the old navy base housing. electric is free (because the houses dont have their own meters-just like any military base/post housing). i was going to take a job at the prison in Kenedy (near Beeville) and was going to rent one of the houses there. they have their own beer joint and country store too. so it's like a little community. just google capehart-i think that's the name

Hi, I was born in Beeville, It use to be a navy town, but the base shut down in the late 80's, there are several prisons now and the town has come back to life. There is a super Walmart now, Chilie's, Movie theater, New schools, but not much more. Corpus & SA are an hour drive. Nice lake in Three Rivers. (Choke Canyon) 40 min. drive. I do own land and a nice 3b/2b trailer in near by Mineral, Tx.(15 min. ) thats for rent for the right family. Have any other quetions feel free to contact me. tringttx@aol.com or 512 630-7200

Beeville is about 100 mile drive from SA on I-37 and 80 miles on 181. Not too much in the city and houses aren't impressive (lots of trailers). If it isn't too late I'd make a visit before taking the job.

Population levels are decreasing slightly in the Beeville area, but its a nice little, quiet ranching community for the most part. Real estate is a good buy and just think how neat your place will look among the others.....lol Looking into the future, the sprawl from Corpus, San Anton and Houston are bound to liven things up - its a shame though.
