Smile Looking to Relocate From Tennessee

My wife and I moved from Massachusetts (birthplace) to Fort Myers, Florida twelve years ago. Over a year ago we moved to the Nashville ,Tennessee area. The reason we got out of Florida was the out of control growth and the high cost of home owners insurance and property taxes. Also, for us there was not a lot of things to do in our spare time unless all you wanted to do is play golf or go to the beach. Here is our problem, we enjoy the Nashville area a lot due to the fact we enjoy music and the arts. The problem is we would like to move to an area that is not as cold in the winter time. What part of the state would be warm in the winter and still have lot's of things to do in the way of music and the arts and culture? We both work from home so being near a certain city is not a requirement This will be our last move as we would like to retire where we move to. Any help in this would be appreciated.

Austin would be good. You might even like San Antonio. If you choose not to live in the heart of the city, many surrounding areas are nice.

You might not get cold winters but be prepared for very hot and long summers. The comfort index level in each of these cities is worse than Nashville.

Good luck to you wherever you move.

If it's the country music you enjoy then Dallas is probably the place you'd want to be. Great art scene and a not too bad country music scene.

Most of the state is at 70 during that time of the period.

The "warm-hot" times in Texas begin in April and end usually in September.

Definitely yes. I live in Central Texas and I remember many Februarys being in the 90s, crazy but true. One memory comes to mind very vividly. I purchased a tree to plant and my dad (God rest his soul) was digging the hole. It was in February, the perfect time to plant trees, and I remember him saying while he was sweating, "You picked the hottest day of the year to do this." Grrrrrrr!!
