Default Avoid BrandyCo Rentals

I am currently renting from BrandyCo. They are a family run business and went above and beyond (compared to several other realty places in the area) when I was first house hunting. Now that I am in the house and my furniture, etc is all moved in, they know I am not going anywhere. My A/C doesn't work, half of the appliances in the kitchen died in the first few weeks and they no longer return my calls. I am in the process of having them placed on the "off limits" list for soldiers on FT Hood, as I don't want another soldier to be treated this way. I have been told that the previous tenant didn't complain (and they act like I am the one who is wrong for complaining now) and that I should have rented a more expensive house if I wanted things to get fixed.

I am still living in one of their houses. I invite anyone who doesn't believe me to come over and check it -- its horrible.

AVOID BRANDYCO RENTALS AT ALL COSTS ... AND SPREAD THE WORD!!!!!!

I hear people's houses get broken into a lot. Lots of that type of crime over there. At least that's what I hear from the people that currently live there or have lived there. Unfortunately, I will be moving there soon. Husband is stationed over there. So I need to find a place in the "safer" areas. I'd be pissed if anyone breaks into our house or our car

well, that's easy. dont live anywhere near downtown Killeen. if you HAVE to live in Killeen, live on the outskirts-the areas bordering Harker Heights or Copperas Cove. if you want REAL safe, live in Gatesville or Lampasas.
but if I were you, I would live on post. the post housing is gorgeous, and of course the benefits of living on a federal installation-limited access, MP's everywhere, strong close knit communities. i cant figure out why anyone would want to live off post, if they can get post housing..plus your electric is FREE-if that aint enough, i dont know what is! electricity is expensive in Texas. USE YOUR MILITARY BENEFITS!

Quote NOTAM:
"in the Cove we only have two latte places-i think one however is a drive thru-that is Cuppies. but the Bean "something" i believe has a sit down place.
no bookstores in Cove. i do alot of my shopping on the internet cuz i dont like to drive to Killeen unless i have to"

I drive to Leander, via Briggs to do my shopping..The HEB's in CC and Lampassas are the pits and I also hate driving into Killeeen. I would much rather go to RR or Austin for that matter to shop!

You drive all the way to Leander to even go grocery shop?
Well, I grocery shop in either of three HEB's-Copperas Cove, Lampasas, or Gatesville (since I am equidistant pretty much between all of them). I must say the HEB Cove employees are VERY nice, helpful-which is unusual, because you would expect that in the more rural stores, but I have to give them that-they are consistently courteous-I don't know what management is doing over there, but they sure are choosing the right folks. Lampasas HEB is OK. It lacks the exotic/international stuff that Cove has. Gatesville HEB is my least favorite, but happens to be in my favorite town. Thank goodness there is a Super Walmart there for grocery needs.
What is in Leander?
You go via Briggs? I am assuming 183?
How long does it take?
I have never even been to Leander.

Whenver I have a lot of shopping yes I Do! The variety in CC and Lampasas is nil and void.. No Starbucks package coffee, lousy fish, limited everything.

Not to long ago Leander opened a super HEB.. It is large, clean and a lot of gourmet finds.. The meat, fish, and deli have much more variety.

I do like the Lampasas HEB vs Cove...Way cleaner and nicer people. The same for Lampasas Walmart.

As to Leander 1 way is 183, but thats not how I go.. The stop light on 190 I believe it is 2808? Anyway if you know where Christensons gas and little store is and where all the U-hauls are parked. Thats the road thru Kempner it goes into Briggs and 183. Much quicker than thru Lampasas

Sorry this post keeps growing but I keep thinking of things to add.

What is in Leander? Kohels.....Loews...Payless Cashway.. TS.Tractor supply place. Also there is a Chase Bank by HEB.

How long does it take?
Because of the fact you will be leaving from Kempner you will not have the traffic into CC and Killeen. Therefore time wise it will be about the same maybe a tad longer, specially if you have never been cause the 1st time anywhere seems like it takes forever.

Special Note! ON 183 past Seward Junction that will be hwy 29 left goes into Georgetown and right goes thru Liberty Hill and into Burnet.

If you are hungry for BBQ on the Left on 183 past HWY 29, on your left is a Texaco station there is a Smokey Moes BBQ restaurant!! Definitely worth stopping for.

******* Be sure to stay on "Old HWY 183" if you are going into Leander!!! Stay in the right hand lane and turn right, Just pay attention!!! Otherwise you will be on the toll road straight in Austin !!

i go to the TSC in Gatesville. it's a good one.
how long does it take you to drive from Cove to Leander?
Smokey Moe's BBQ-will definitely check it out-is it open pit style like Schoepfs in Belton?
Super HEB, that would be worth the trip.
would like to go to COSTCO in Austin but being only me, not worth buying membership since i dont buy in bulk.
