Wendy, the major drawback of Andrews would be the job market, unless someone is looking to work in the oilfields. Other than that, you aren't going to make enough money!!!

I would LOVE to move back to Andrews, but the job market doesn't allow for this!

Default West Texas-what about Lubbock?

Lubbock is not scenic but I would encourage to at least consider it. My husband and I live in the D/FW area now and have for many years, but I was born and raised in Lubbock. I still think it has a whole lot to offer. I especially loved the very low humidity there! It has many amenities-restaurants, shopping, etc. as well as access to good medical care and good educational opportunities (Texas Tech University). It has a small town feel but population of around 200,000 (which gives you a lot of the amenities I spoke of earlier!)

Thumbs up try San Angelo

I think you can't go wrong with San Angelo I lived in the area a few yrs ago and I always found the people friendly and helpful.Abilene has its charm too both places have been growing one has the advantage or disadvantage of being on a major interstate, but San Angelo does not have that and maybe its good to be away from an interstate it depends how you look at it.
