Question Going to Mason County Next Weekend

Hey, I am going topaz panning in Mason County next weekend and I need to know a nice place to stay as well as a few other things to do while I am there and a good place to eat. I am planning on going for two nights and three days.

If you're willing to drive a little, the Side Oats Cafe in Menard (next county over) is excellent! We've stayed at the Motel 83 and it was very clean and comfortable.

There are also a few more motels and the standard fast food places in Brady.

If you stop in Brady, see about some open pit barbecue at Hard Eight. Very good smoked meats that you can choose from an open pit. It's real good Texas-style atmosphere.

FORT MCKAVETTE OUTSIDE MENARD IS A NICE PLACE TO TOUR IF YOU LIKE HISTORY AND THE SOUTH TEXAS LANDSCAPE.
