I didn't say I got in any trouble for posting my own pictures. I was making the point that when posting pictures on this forum, you better be sure that they ARE your own pictures, because if not, you're taking a risk. I see pictures all over this forum all the time that are from sources other than the person writing the post (you can easily google many of these pictures and see that they are from publications or other sources). How people get away with this is beyond me because if I dare do that, I get a "citation" from the mods. Every single time. Even though I clearly give credit to the source.

So my post was a warning to anyone trying to post pictures that they didn't actually take themselves. I mean, maybe that particular poster is a professional photographer with his/her work published all over the web but otherwise....I'd say be very careful.

One thing I do have to bring up is when did Texas become really kicker-ed out?? When I was in junior high and high school, the boots, worker jackets, total AG look was a subset of people. Everyone else just followed the latest trends wearing band t shirts, shopping at Spencer gifts, there were head-bangers, gangsters, preps, goth, etc. The people going out of their way to dress more "Texan" weren't there. Today, with every visit I see more people in cowboy boots. The look for guys is usually black north face fleece, jeans and cowboy boots, usually of the Ariat rambler brand. Females are rocking boots too. I see more people own trucks too. Even hipsters wear vintage boots they pick up at the thrift store.

Life in Texas for me was always just like Reality Bites or like Dazed and Confused.

Is it just me or did I miss a chance that happened in the state?
