I have a valid licence from another state and now I have all the documentation necessary to prove identity and TX residency.

I have car insurance through my husband.

Both cars that we drive are being paid off and the loans are in husband's name. I don't own either vehicle, nor does my name appear on the vehicle registration.

I keep reading that when I apply for my DL, I will need to show my proof of insurance and show car registration in my name OR an affidavit stating that I don't own a vehicle.

Does the DMV provide me with some standard no-vehicle affidavit when I apply, and I just sign it there?

Or do I need to draft a brief affidavit stating that I don't own a vehicle and get it notarized and submit this with my DL application?

Or since I am an insured driver, do I not need to show anything else but the insurance card?

You should just show the registration, even in your husband's name it's joint property.

Just show the car insurance with your name on it and the vehicle registration in your husband's name.

Update just in case someone else is in my situation in the future: I just said I didn't have any vehicles in my name and I wasn't asked for anything else. I didn't sign anything to support that. I did use my car insurance card as one of my proof of address items.
