I am considering a move to the College Station/Bryan area from my present location in Los Angeles County, california. I have arthritis and grocery stores here provide automatic carts for shopping for people with such disabilities. I know College Station is a college town and wonder if the area provides any help for the older generation.

I'm sure they do. Try calling a couple of the grocery stores.

Almost all major stores, at least, have electric carts that are available for people to use. I know that HEB will also provide 'assistance' shoppers if you need to reach high places, etc.

Thanks for the replies. That's one question down. A few more to go. :-) Maybe this should be another thread, but is there a YMCA in the area, with a pool? I usually go to my local pool a few times a week for exercise.

HEB might not be out there..I know Cameron and Rockdate have Brookshire Brothers as the major supermarket in town.
