Thumbs down Temple

As someone who has lived in Temple I can tell you yes we have our bad neighborhoods just like anyone else, as a former 911 dispatcher I can also tell you Temple is just as bad as Killeen as far as the crime. I would not move here again if it were me! I would definately move to one of the outter communities of Austin. We go to Austin for just about everything! While Temple is trying to grow with the recent shopping center etc we still have a long way to go before its decent. I have never heard it compared to any movie muchless hope floats...but to each his/her own. For a town with 50,000+ people and one of the largest hospitals around I would definately consider it a deprived community. Just my 2 cents

all i know is my coworker lives on a nice horse ranch she bought in Temple....and i have been to her house and it is GORGEOUS...its down 93 heading east, i think.
i aint been to anywhere in Temple but BJ's Microbrewery and that was pretty good. Temple seems like an awful big town or small city...way too big for me. (i like living in towns with population under a 1000 if possible, like the one i am moving to in two weeks, i think i am the 1005th resident ha ha) . i dont do malls, but if i HAD to, i would go to the one in Temple cuz Killeen is too busy for me.

I have a hard time believing this one. Killeen's crime is worse than Temple IMO and it doesn't help that Ft. Hood is right next to it. Maybe the stats prove otherwise. But from what you read in the papers or hear on the news, Killeen is talked about as much as Waco. And bellstarofTexas is right. The pace of Killeen is alot more faster and busier than Temple.

i would have a REAL hard time believing Temple's crime rate is ANYWHERE near that of Killeen. that would be like saying Georgetown/Round Rock/Pflugerville's crime rate is higher than Austin
