Default Circles seen from Above

We at work have just been useing "Google Earth" and are intrigued by what look like circular crop fields. Is there someone on the Guymon area (Texas, We think) who could contact us to explain the why's and wherefores of these circles

Best regards from England

Mike, John, and Heath

That would be Guymon, Oklahoma - located in the panhandle of OK. Lots of wheat grown in that area on up into Kansas. Guymon also has lots of watermelons.

Looked it up and it sure looks like a field that has been planted with something. Post on the Oklahoma board see if someone there knows. Must admit I am curious now.

Default West Texas

Out in West Texas, crops are watered in a circle with a large sprinkler. Perhaps that is what you are seeing.

They pretty much do that in other areas w/ large farms. I've seen it while flying over Colorado and New Mexico. It is much easier to water in this fashion. It is automated and the whole long arm of the sprinkler goes in a circle around the field. If you look real close at the pics you may be able to see it.
