After Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas dropped Kelsey-Seybold Clinic from PPO plan now they dropped all CVS pharmacies as well including the Sugar Land Kelsey-Seybold pharmacy which is part of the CVS chain. What's next? I will have to drive to Dallas to get my prescriptions now? Unbelievable. Why is everything getting so screwed up now. Not only that my insurance went up by 60% now I have to drive around for a prescription refill

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas drops Kelsey-Seybold Clinic from most plans

So exactly how are the Democrats responsible for what an independent insurance company (BCBSTX) does? I agree it totally sucks, as they're my provider as well, but I'm missing the link between them and ACA.

There is none. It's just the go-to excuse whenever something negative related in any way to healthcare or insurance is reported. It makes it easy for the insurance companies to get away with unpopular decisions like this one - they just blow the "obamacare" dog whistle and are absolved of any wrongdoing in the court of public opinion.

Not trying to take any sides. But how exactly does ACA or one political party influence healthcare costs so much? These costs were always increasing even before ACA.

Did OP have BCBSTX and those premiums increased by 60%?

I think it's great that there's 20 million more people with health insurance, there's coverage for pre-existing conditions, that insurance companies can't drop you if you get sick, lifetime and annual limits are eliminated, insurance policies have to meet a minimal standard and there's no longer gender discrimination when buying policies.

I don't like premiums rising but 85% of folks won't see much of an increase because of subsidies. Healthcare is not going to be solved overnight. Why not keep the good stuff and fix what's wrong?

Even better, how about getting the insurance companies out of healthcare and having a single payer system?

For now, sorry you have to pay a little more and can't pick up your prescriptions from CVS.

We will end up with single payer system, there's no other choice. And I don't like it. I came from country where you had only this option, and the healthcare was just terrible. Nothing good came out of it. You'll see what single payer system is about, you have to live in one first to experience it. Give it some years.:-(

By now, I'm debating what insurance should I get, or not get. It starting to be difficult. I'm very upset with BCBS, but United is the same crap, pretty much.

I don't doubt your experience. Hopefully we can develop a system that works well for everyone.
