Senator Perry files to eliminate sanctuary cities in Texas - Story | KTBC

"On Tuesday, Senator Charles Perry filed SB 4, which would eliminate "Sanctuary Cities" in Texas. It would require local governments and police to uphold the law and enforce current immigration laws.

“By electing a Republican president and Republican majorities in Congress, the American people made it clear that solving our illegal immigration crisis must be a priority,” said Senator Perry. “That starts by eliminating sanctuary cities, securing our border, and enforcing the immigration laws we currently have on the books. We cannot sit idly by and allow local policies to undercut efforts made at the federal and state level."

On Monday, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick listed ending sanctuary city policies as one of his top 10 priorities for the upcoming session."

Hell yeah, finally a step in the right direction.

Good luck. You apparently fail to understand that the diversity of many Texans doesn't follow lock step with your strategy. See you in court.

Wow! Really??

Your not complaining about how cheap housing is in Texas are you?

Wait till construction costs, due to skyrocketing labor, put the sale price of new homes through the roof!

Funny in other parts of the country we have all white construction crews and housing is cheaper.

Maybe people shouldn't be extorting the Mexicans for the cheap wages and give them proper wages, it should of never happened in the first place, couldn't one argue that is just another form of slavery?

As a former construction worker I can say that we had a background check to follow through. Just because there Latin doesn't mean all of them are illegal.

Of course it doesn't - but I've seen enough GOOD crews shut down because the illegal ones would come in and lowball jobs to realize it's hurt a LOT of the trades.

I doubt it's that diverse when it comes to THIS issue. So yeah it might pass. No court date needs to be set.
