Do they get Twisters there and Humidity?
Weather wise where would a CA feel the most comfortable in TX?

The place you're looking for is a suburb of Texas. We call it Arizona ... If you want low humidity, stay west of the rockies. I'd consider a move back to Texas, except we can't stand the humidity. 115+ degrees is okay, as long as it's dry. Have to settle for our occassional visits. Do wish we had more Texans living here, though.
Good luck with Idaho!

Here is what we got today in Central Texas 45 miles north of Waco. I love it; I only wish it would have snowed much more.

I wish I could say I love snow but no, I get plenty of that here. I was hoping Texas wouldn't be so cold. Gee, I feel sad. Love your dogs though.

Don't worry, this is unusual. My grown kids have seen significant snow only about 4 times in their life.Other than the driving, this stuff is a real treat.

Don't worry, the cold weather here is short-lived, not bad at all.

And for the Dallas area, it is hardly ever this cold for this long. When they said it was supposed to snow yesterday and today I just knew then we would see the sun. As whenever we do get snow the sun comes out right after and melts it all away.

That's neat how you can count on the sun that way.
Ours will come back about April, maybe May.
We normally get infrequent sun sometimes in fall and winter, I meant that as a joke, but some years it sure feels that way.

Well I live on Maui and it was absolutely gorgeous. A little chilly tonight. Had to get the throw out.

This cloudy and cold weather here in the DFW area the past week or so is just a tiny reminder of what it was like when I lived in Chicago. I love that city and could probably live there again, but, those winters just wore me out. I can remember not seeing the sun the entire month of January, especially if you lived in the city close to Lake Michigan (which seemed to help create the continuous cloud cover while areas further out in the burbs past O'Hare would occasionally see the sun). The coldest I have ever been in my life was there. I still have memories of watching local TV and the weather scrolling across the bottom of the screen warned everyone not to go outside unless absolutely necessary. Something to the affect of "life threatening cold" seems to stick in my mind! The actual temp that night was supposed to drop down to near 21 below zero without wind but at the time of the weather scroll, it was only a balmy 6 below!
