Crockett Texas (Houston, Spring, Huntsville: home, to live in, shop)

anyone live in crockett texas if so let meknow how it is.....I will be moving there within a week ....

I lived near there and my husband's parents had a weekend home over in Beelot many years ago. Crockett is a very small town. It doesn't have much there and you would have to go to Lufkin or to Huntsville to do any sort of major clothes shopping. Of course Wal mart is around the loop there. My family is from around there. My grandmother lived in Apple Springs and would go to the Wal Mart over there to get things she needed. She hated going to Lufkin.

Crockett is a nice small town, like previous post said not much there, but they do have medical facilities, Wal Mart, HEB, a number of fast food places.
I use to live in Nacogdoches County and took grandson to the dentist in Crockett, he was great.

It's been awhile since I've been there...over 10 years. But it is nice and peaceful out there for sure. Places not to far off to do some fishing and you can see so many stars at night if you're into that sort of thing. Best of all the air is just fresh. Only bad thing I can really think of is that it turns into a sweatbox during the summer. Even worse than Houston. It gets so damn hot with such a high humidity. Just sitting in a lawn chair perfectly still I will have trickles of sweat pouring down my face and sides.
