Well, I'm old and protection from the sun wasn't advertised much back then so women my age look parched. This Texas sun will ruin anyone's skin if the precautions you listed aren't used. I did not grow up in Texas and by the time I came here, I had enough sense to know that a tan didn't make you a pretty person.

What is sad is that so many women are now visiting tanning salons as well as some who still insist on sun bathing. One day, they will regret that because their youthful look will be terminated way too prematurely.

Many people adhere to the warning of the sun but so many don't. I guess it's sort of like the smokers, speaking of which can make a man or a woman have leather-looking skin and age them way too soon not only inside the body but outside as well.

You're going to be hard pressed to find a lot of green and low humidity. We like west Texas (Abilene) because of the low humidity. It's not terribly green here, but there are some nice parts of town that are very green.

Fortunately, I was born "tanned", so no tanning salon for me.

Well......it is 12:42MDT/1:42 CDT.....here in NM, it is 15% humidity......the Austin area right now shows 75%, according to Weather.com.

It probably does not feel as humid to someone who lives in the area....and is used to it.

I think most people consider 75% ''humid'' no matter where they are from.

Strange as Houston right now is reading 65% humidity. It's fairly comfortable out there at 72 degrees, but it could be better. Not a good time to open the house windows, unless a potential mold/mildew problem is the goal.

Hmm, an hour later and weather.com says it's 61% humidity. Perhaps it rained where the weather station is, it has been cloudy today.

To really understand humidity you need to realize the connection with the dew point and temperature to determine humidity. Just because the humidity is 80% outside doesnt mean it will feel that way. It could be 50 degrees outside. Also, the humidity may be 40% mid-summer but the dewpoint is 70, which is oppressive.
