Default Need advice moving to Tyler texas

My son and I are coming back to Texas at the end of March. We want to move to Tyler Texas to be nearer my daughter at her university. I have job leads but need a place to live. How do I go about getting an apt. there while we are getting settled.
This is a big move for us from Canada, where we are now. And its all a bit much for me to figure out how to work it all out. Can you please give me some advise.
Thanks
