Not to promote NM as these are the Texas forums ....as i still wish i knew where the town in Texas is where the ''other'' Billy the Kid is buried.

Thats it Cathy.....Brushy Bill Roberts was his name and he's buried in Hamilton Texas about 100 miles south of Stephenville. Interesting to see if the city council there gives permission to dig him up?

And to think i was getting ready to start a thread titled '' Don't Move To Midland'' !!!! ....lol.....

I'm just kidding ya as i know that's your hometown and i like it there. We always see these kind of posters on City Data as i mostly laugh at them now.

Take care and thanks again !!!

You're quite welcome, Harry, LOL!!

BTW....Midland is not my hometown (125 miles south of there is...)...but I did live most of my adult working life (30 years) there!

Anyways, why do you want to move to the coast? You sure you can take the humidity?
I can take the humidity, as a matter of fact its better for me and my breathing and allergies.

San Angelo is a place I plan to check out along the way. But I am a beach kinda guy and I like the water.. so that is my main reason for the coast. Endless water forces one to dream, and wonder whats over the horizon, and that re-energizes me.. I also like rain, and it does not do that enough for me here.

Let us know your thoughts good and bad when you get back to EP Muhnay as april will probably be my last month in Albuquerque so i have decisions as i'm either heading to Jacksonville FL or the Texas Coast. I know Jacksonville's economy is superior but i wonder if Corpus is less expensive to live. Both Texas and Florida have no state income tax. After 13 years up here i really need to unwind for a while on the beaches and go boogie boarding on the waves and soaking up the heat and sunshine and sipping on an Pina Colada.....

I grew up on the Bay of Port Isabel and spent my weekends at the beach. The sun will make you age faster than financial stress and suicidal depression. I tell you though, when you have the whole place to yourself, nothing beats it (okay, almost nothing). But, I must warn you--people that live in coastal beach towns get tired of it fast. Why don't you rent for a while? I think South Padre is the best place to live for lack of crowds and having the whole place to yourself.

Some pics I took:

I forgot to ask if you do not mind Cathy but where is the ol' hometown? I've read your postings of Alpine and Marfa so is that the area. I once dated a girl in EP that was from Balmorhea. She used to tell me about when she and her siblings were growing up there was a lake there that they always went to all the time.

I always remember the show on ''Unsolved Mysteries'' years back about the ''Marfa Ghost Lights'' and how they could never figure out what they were.

Talk to ya soon.........

Well I am not worried about aging either.. So bring on the sun and the beach. I lived in Gulfport MS, and know full well what its like to be on a beach.

I don't see SPI as a private place to have the beach all to yourself.. its one of the bigger tourist stops every year. But hey you lived there and would know better.. but I don't think I could live there for many of the same reasons I want to leave El Paso TX.. having to know Spanish to get work... and the fact I don't want to be the minority and feel out of place.

Well I never grew tired of it. Seems like your trying to talk me out of moving to the Texas Coast. Why is that I wonder? Oh and I do plan to rent first.

Thanks for the pictures they are very nice.

Harry, are you headed to the Texas coast soon?? If so, do enjoy the beach.....

The old hometown is Ozona, right off of I-10.....350 miles east of El Paso....100 or so miles east of Fort Stockton....it's considered the Trans-Pecos area. The Pecos river forms the entire western boundary of the county, 3,000 square miles big.

If I return to Texas to live again, the Alpine-Marfa-Ft Davis area would be the most likely choice. It's probably why I like Alamogordo so much....it reminds me of West Texas with added mountains...
