Default single mom coming to TX - Aus vs. Hou

you're single and looking for the "better option". absolute apples and oranges for you. Houston and Austin are very different.

could you be a little more specific? what are your needs exactly?

if you're mainly focused on price, Houston would be cheaper. I believe Austin has the most expensive market right now in the state. doesn't imply it's better, just that there is more of a frenzy of people moving here, with less supply to offer.

what specifically is most important to you, what would you like the city to offer YOU, and your children? and, what can you NOT STAND at all? those might help eliminate some options.
