East Texas has quite a few tornadoes. Your best bet, according to the map on the link below, it almost out of Texas near New Mexico and Mexico. Keep in mind, this map is only indicating the roughest tornadoes, F3, F4, and F5 intensity.

I recently became the owner of a small farm in Hale County, Texas a county that ranks number # 2 in Texas counties for the number of tornadoes since 1950. We've already had one tornado this month. However, in the process of remodeling the old house, I noted a manufacture date of 1949 printed on the bathtub. Unless the old cast-iron tub provided safe haven for previous owners in the past who hid in it during tornadoes and was each time left behind, the date reassures me that I should probably worry more about the owl that has set up housekeeping in my attic than twisters.

The area around Liberty Hill is great! I'm looking at getting into the Border Patrol so I'm gonna be somewhere along the border, but I'd like to retire in that area. When stopping at the local grocer after work, people leave the keys in the ignition, and sometimes even leave the car running. I'd never even consider doing that here in El Paso! Haha.

Just so you know, this is illegal in Texas, if your car gets stolen you can be ticketed and at least partially liable for any damage someone does driving your car.

Amen to that one! As a native west Texan living in east Texas, I long for the days to go back and visit and eventually, move back.

Trouble is, the Californicators have annointed Marfa as their new hippity-hip spot and have driven up real estate values... Check out Terralingua real estate...! Ridiculous. I can remember an acre of desert going for less than a hundred bucks and that was only 20 years ago or so...

About 130,000 people. Texas A&M University is located there. Good schools and lots to do. We moved from there to Las Vegas for a job 11 years ago. Now we are retired and ready to move. College Station is at the top of our list.
Bryan-College station is a nice.... college town. And A&M is a pretty good pre-college school until you can move up and get into THE University, UT! Hook ‘em Horns!
