It's amazing how varying the responses are. People either absolutely can't stand it and would rather live anywhere else, or they completely love living down there. What could cause this? Possibly the people who like it are living in nice areas and the ones who hate it are not?

I think that the "gringos" who could hack it in similarly "foreign" and insular places (ie actual foreign countries in Latin America, Puerto Rico, etc.) might love the Valley, and others who thought they were going to just another American city hate it.
I could be wrong though.
