1. Chris Shepherd’s UB Preserv, One Fifth Mediterranean, and Georgia James, Houston
2. Suerte, Austin
3. Nancy’s Hustle, Houston
4. Macellaio, Dallas
5. Intero, Austin
6. Poitín, Houston
7. Petra and the Beast, Dallas
8. Indigo, Houston
9. Clementine, San Antonio
10. Tulum, Dallas

Great list. I've only been to Indigo and it was good. Definitely want to give One Fifth Mediterranean a try as well since it's apparently closing in July. Chris Shepherd is on fire right now.

Four from Houston, three from Dallas, two from Austin, and one from San Antonio. Sounds about right.

The menu at One Fifth Mediterranean is not my cup of tea, but I did enjoy my visit there when it was Romance Languages. I didn't think Georgia James was that great, but maybe I was there on an off night. Kind of wish he had left it as Underbelly....I know UB Preserve is nearby, but I won't go anyplace that doesn't take reservations. I have too long a drive into downtown/Midtown to take my chances on getting a table.

Haven't been to Poitin yet, but it's been on my radar.

I'm not a foodie but this seems pretty impressive from an outsiders point of view..

Need more proof that Houston has become one of America’s top culinary destinations? The James Beard Foundation announced on Tuesday that it will reveal its 2019 nominees on March 27 in Space City.
Nominees for more than 50 categories, including Restaurant and Chef, and Restaurant Design, will be announced at a 9 a.m. press conference at Hugo’s, co-hosted by Mayor Sylvester Turner and James Beard CEO Clare Reichenbach. The event will be streamed live on the James Beard Foundation website.

“We’re thrilled to showcase the city of Houston and bring our 2019 James Beard Awards nominees announcement to this diverse and vibrant culinary and dining scene,” Reichenbach said. “The city of Houston’s dedication to cultivating and embracing its local restaurants and culinary talent make it the perfect community for such an occasion.”

So many great restaurants in Houston! For a family with kids who have braces, finding places to eat with Braces in Houston can be a challenge, however, some favourites are...

Uptown Sushi
Doux Cafe
Jinya Ramen Bar

Just to name a few....
