Default Yes, But.....

It's possible. You've got 880 mile markers between the Louisiana and New Mexico lines on I-10 (that's your longest option). The physical aspect shouldn't be too tough. But why would you want to zip through Texas when there's just too much to see? And you've got to eat sometime. And you've got to go to the restroom at some point. And you've got to stop once or twice for gasoline depending on how much is in the tank. And.............

...you've got to get a picture of Paisano Pete. And.....

Sorry My Caps Button Is Stuck
Possible, yes. Easy, no.

I drove from Midland, TX, to Phoenix, AZ, in one day, 736 miles (another state, but same principle)...and it nearly killed me. I'm not sure I could last another 100 miles all the way from El Paso to Beaumont, about 832 miles.....

You know your limits. I reached mine when I got to Phoenix. Interstate all the way does make it easier, but it's still a very tiring trip.

I forgot about another friend, a 66 year old woman, who drives from Waco to Iowa all in one shot. I believe she said it was 1,000 miles. I know I couldn't do it; I get way too sleepy, but she's a pistol and full of energy. She packs a pistol too!!

Did Beaumont to Amarillo in one day, and arrived at 7PM, could have gone farther, but I was ready to stop.

i would never do it in one day. the worst part of the journey, west of san antonio, would be occuring after you had already been driving all day. between the deer, hills, and sameness of the road of far west texas you'd be in a world of hurt. (and there's no where to stop). maybe el paso to beaumont, but NEVER beaumont to el paso.

Two years ago, at age 59, drove from Pueblo, CO, to Alvarado, TX, 687 miles, by my lonesome self. Took right at 12 hours. Have a good radio, like maybe satellite, clear mind, and determination. With the roads these days being 4-laned or better in most places, you shouldn't have any trouble.

I have done it, but the four lane roads are my problem. I get so sleepy driving mile after mile of the interstates. I had one rather serious wreck when I fell asleep, so I never like to drive when I start getting drowsy. It is dangerous.

You have to drive for more than 10 hours.
But it's feasible although I don't recommend it.
