a safe place to live in Texas ?
Considering that :
- i'm gay
- i'm an anti-NRA activist
- i'm a anti-death penalty activist
- i'm an anti-republican activist
- i'm a kyoto-protocol activist
what's the best place for me to live in Texas??

Austin would be the only city I think you should consider. It's not the gay thing...not even some of your political views....it's just all of it combined. Just remember...if you decide to come to Texas....don't get here and complain that we are to conservative....you were warned before you came.

It would probably be better for everybody if you looked more into California. The fact that you don't just believe in those things, but are an "activist" for them tells me you probably wouldn't have that much fun here. If for some reason you feel that you just have to come to Texas, Austin might be the best fit, but even there won't come close to California.
On a side note, how can you be an anti-republican activist? I could see not agreeing with them, but you are an anti-republican activist? Do you want to see the Republican party disbanded? Fight for what you believe in, and let the other side do the same, I think thats what our system is all about here.

Plenty of Places for You
Plenty of big places where you'd do fine here in Texas.
Houston
Dallas
Austin
Room for anyone, everyone in the big cities.

Nope, not even Austin. Austin is a very live and let live kind of city, but not many loud activists here. Even the people here who are liberals, don't like guns, etc...do not get in your face to people who don't believe as them. No big marches and shout fests. Haven't seen that in Houston or Dallas either. It's not as liberal here as it is on the West Coast, even if it is heralded as the most liberal city in Texas.

Where does the OP say anything about shout-fests, about getting in your face???
I saw plenty of activists in Austin. Ditto Houston. Ditto Dallas. You can't swing a dead cat w/o hitting someone who is upset about something and letting you know about it.

BTW loveitorleaveit, consider Montrose in Houston. Try to get some info online through the gay publications out of Houston and the other cities and you'll get a totally different perspective than you get on city-data or many other sites.
