Isn't that the truth, far better than what most children are doing these days. I'm not referring to your 4-year old, blondie1, but with all the technology today and so much garbage related to it, no wonder so many of our youth are the way they are. It truly is a shame.

There has to be a ton of great small town in Texas. Do you have a particular area to where you'd like to relocate?

I live outside of a small town; we have a lake, school carnivals, town parades, and pioneer days. Churches always have wonderful activities for the youngsters. The county has a county fair. I think most small towns will have things like this and some, maybe even more.

The crime where I live isn't bad, but it's getting a little high considering it's small. We rate on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the worst) as a 3 for violent crime and a 6 for property crime. The nation's overal crime rate is a 3 / 3. It has worsened the 28 years I've lived here but isn't too terrible. I might add that illegals are quite a problem in south Texas and even where I live in Central Texas.

If you have specific areas in mind within the state, you might get a bunch of really great information.

Yep, obesity is rampant all over the country. 17% of teens are obese.
