Not sure why anyone would compare the terrain around Lubbock (which is a wasteland) to the incredible beauty of Utah! There are very beautiful parts of Texas, but Lubbock is NOT one of them!

Well, Lubbock itself is flat and ordinary but the scenery around Post is absolutely beautiful.

If you go east awhile on 82, past Crosbyton, there are some little canyon and hilly areas which are nice. I think I saw a sign to Post from there.

Why do we have to be so pollitically correct all the time anymore? Is anyone else as tired of it as I am? Seems a shame that it's hard to get your meaning across without having to apoligize in advance for possibly stepping on someone's toes. Good Lord, it gets tiring.

You'd better really check out this place called Texas before you decide to plant yourself here. There are worse places but if you're really wanting to move, I can assure you there are better places too.
Not really important, but the same goes for Texas. The A/C can be running and the heater may be used as well in the same day. Those things don't bother me. And I thought it was, "If you want changing weather in Texas, just wait a minute." Obviously, that's a comment that can be made in many places in our country. I used to believe it was only in Texas. Duh!!

I agree. Utah is not just an ugly desert. It is beautiful and what about those mountains....nothing really competes with them.

I lived near Page, AZ for a year and would go up nearly every weekend to hike in the beautiful state parks there (i.e. Bryce, Zion). Miss it!

lonestar, I'm just about as tired of pc as you seem to be. Yes, I do agree with treating people with respect, but there's no way anyone can open their mouths without offending someone. And it's my job as the "offended" person to no be so hypersensitive and to be mature enough to not let every little thing bother me. It's tiring trying to walk on eggshells all the time.

It's also got to be exhausting being so hypervigilant about being offended all the time, one would think.
