You didn't get the word ? Looks like American is going into bankrupcy, AKA
"going belly-up". You may have to go over to Love Fld to catch a Southwest flight, they should be operating for awhile longer.

I'm no stranger to Texas as I've spent time there. In Houston more than anyother place but also Austin and N.Texas (in Irving between Ft.Worth & Dallas).
Yes you know its interesting but summers in Texas are really somewhat like winters up north in the sense that you're confined indoors because of the
extreme condidtions outside and they can be so long, so monotonous. Like
a really long winter up north.

ILNC.........Right now at this ungodly hour of the morning in Houston, it is 79 degrees, 81% humidity and a dew point of 73 That's just horrible. I have to go to Houston in July for a wedding and I'm already dreading the thought of the heat and humidity being even worse than Central Texas.
You have my sympathy, it will be even hotter and more humid by July!

Great post Eastender, and how true. Weather-wise, we're as far from Texas as possible (just came off a record breaking winter for the most snow EVER)

For us in New Hampshire, that's business as usual, just more of the same that we're already used to. I agree that we just deal with it and it gives us something to gab about until we're told from people not from here just how awful it is, we do things all wrong, blah blah blah...

Like tstone said, we grew up here and never had (or have) a problem with the weather till outsiders tell us "It's just awful". Besides, it could be worse. We could live in some other state.

Try living here. My best guess is that if you "love North Carolina", you wouldn't like this weather. It's cold from October to May, on the average, and an old-timer couple recently told us that in their first year of marriage, they had a freeze every month except for July up here.

May 23rd, and I'm sitting in front of a space heater because it's against my dignity to be paying for natural gas in May. I lied about it hitting 60 on Friday... today is Friday and it's supposed to hit only 58. They say TOMORROW will be in the 60s... it's about freaking time, with this being the ninth straight day where we haven't seen 60. Again it was 37 this morning. If you want this weather, I will gladly sell you my house. $37K takes it.

Well I don't know where here is for you but it sounds better than where here is for me, in Houston. We had heat index's this week of 100 and 98, I couldn't be outside longer than 5 minutes without feeling like I was going to ignite
Your cool weather sounds refreshing to me. So yea I want to trade

Here is Northwest Pennsylvania... hence my screen name. According to weather.com, the average high for this area in July (the hottest month) is 80 and the average low for July is 58. That's cold enough that you don't even need an air conditioner. Run the fan at night with the windows open... that'll cool your house just fine.

I'll take those 100-degree heat indexes (indices?)... at least then my fingers wouldn't be cold, I wouldn't have to wear sweats, etc. Two summers ago, my wife and I replaced a roof during a time when the temperatures were in the high 90s with high humidity... if that didn't produce a 110-degree heat index, I don't know what would. We survived roofing in that weather... I think we could survive relaxing in 100-degree heat indices. Texas, here we come! *one week until our visit*

You also have to think about the humidity too, but it sounds like you enjoy the hot weather, so you should be ok, I hope you enjoy your visit.
