Seven people were found dead at the scene and 10 were taken to hospitals, Martin Sandoval, a Brownsville police spokesperson, told CNN. Later Sunday, an eighth person died due to injuries from the crash, Sandoval told CNN.

Will be interesting to see the toxology report and what comes out of that. It would be kind of surprising if he intentionally did it given he is also Hispanic and doesn't appear to fit the 'nationalist' profile.

I have no idea what his motivation was but being Hispanic doesn't negate someone from a hateful bigot. Look at the Allen shooting.

Allen shooter was mentally unstable, He had deeper roots than being a hateful bigot given that he was also expeled from the army. You're right that his race does not negate the potential, but the likelihood is significantly less than say a nationalist. This to me on the surface looks like a uninsured motorists who was potentially intoxicated. Texas has a big problem with this as is. I personally can't forsee this man having a willful intent to clash with migrants...but who knows...
