Hey y'all my hubby wants to move us to either of these,
Houston
Dallas/Ft. Worth
Shreveport
Tulsa
Not nessecarily the downtown part of em but outside real lose to em.
We currently live east of Longview, and he wants to move us for better job oppurtunities. I would love to stay in East Texas or West Louisiana so i can be close to my Family. I hate Houston, well actually i just hate the whole "big city" feel. My hubby does to, but still wants to go. We have some family on his side up in Tulsa but i've been there only once, so i dont know much about it. We are both in our early 20's we have 4 babies(ages 5, 4, 2 and one is due June/14). We dont make alot a money where we are now and are just wantin somethin better. Which one of these do you think would be best for us? Like better jobs and stuff, better places to live/raise a family. I want to possibly go to nursing school or somethin like that. Sorry its so dang long lol, thank y'all for the help!

Since you live near Longview/Hallsville area, you see the TV stations and how bad the crime is in Shreveport. I wouldn't want to live in Shreveport proper, not to mention Louisiana public schools are not the best. Tulsa is doing pretty good right now and so are Dallas and Houston, I would look more closely at those places. You could always live in a rural burb of one of those cities and commute.

My husband is from Marshall, TX and we have family there, as well as near Dallas and Austin.

Due to their sheer size, Dallas and Houston would probably present the best job opportunities at competitive wages compared to Shreveport.

Go to the library and check out job listings in the largest newspaper in each city and see what's available in your husband's field, or go online and do it:
Jobs & Employment | Dallas Morning News | News for Dallas, Texas
Houston online jobs, job search and career education - Chron.com: Jobs - Houston Chronicle
Tulsa World: Jobs
Good luck!

I think that's it's very ambitious of him and you to think bigger. However, with the little ones so young and since you are short on cash, you may want to stay longer closer to your family so you can get help from them with the little ones. Daycares are very expensives. Save as much as you can.

Can he look for something in the Greenville area so you don't have to move?

Good luck to you,

Naima
