NADA Ranch is on a distinguished road
Hello EVERYONE!
My name is Joe Rodriguez, and like a lot of people here, I too, am buying a piece of land out there, my brother and I decided to get involved on this deal over the internet, i did some research on the company offering this land, and found nothing negative on them, witch at this point it's good ( the name of the company is Western Texas Realty Land Sales) they sell land over the internet on their page and on Ebay, at this point i think they are legit, maybe the land it's a bit overpriced, but you can buy with low down payment and small monthly payments, otherwise i could not afford to buy it.
I am not advertising for the company, i mentioned the name just in case someone knows of this company and wanted to comment on it, i started to e-mail the contact on their page, and to start off, i got a prompt answer every time, then i called in, answer a bunch of questions and again, they were polite clear my doubts and eager to help.
I have traveled around and through the area more on I-10 several times, i even stayed a couple of nights on a hotel on Van Horn, but never wondered around the vicinity, but i can tell you, loved the area and the people around there, so here we are, trying to get out there one of these weekends.
I live in Houston, I doubt I ever going to leave the city, but the purpose of buying this land is to get away from all this big city fuzz, at least for a few days at the time.
The cell phones don't work? Great! that's what I want, i want tranquility and peace away from all those commodities we are so spoiled with, i was born and raised in a farm 10 minutes from the city, but back then, there was very little difference between the two places, heck, people was almost the same.
I wish we could go back those days..
Anyway, I am looking forward to visit our place as soon as mid-December or mid- January, for the first time, the pictures i saw in these forum are great, thanks to you all for all that valuable information you are posting, i have an idea what the area looks like, but the pictures help a lot more.
Someone mentioned that most of the important stuff around there it's done by trading or bartering, i like the idea, I am a diesel mechanic, so maybe someone there can use my help around their tractors/equipment.
I too, am going to need a surveyor and maybe some labor help.
Anyone knows if I can get a couple of laborers out of Dell city for a few days? After marking the land I am going to need a fence around it the lot is only 15 acres, but may try to buy more in the future.
If you noticed my id name here is NADA Ranch (Nada means nothing in Spanish), that's what We will name our place in the future.
The property legal location is this:
Tract 12, Vista Heights Subdivision # 1, Section 33, Block 70, Township 2, lots C,D and E
Any information pertinent will be greatly appreciated.
I also would like to contact people actually living there, We could trade knowledge or chat, I would like to learn about the alternative source of energy, I really don't want to disturb the peace out there running a generator for power.
I will bring my own water.
For starts, We will install a 16 foot metal container converted into a cabin/living quarters, maybe not a pretty sight for the ranchers around, but I promise it won't be an eye sour. LOL!
Sorry about the length of this, but I ask a lot of questions, and I like people to ask me a lot of questions too...
One more, anyone knows if live oak threes would thrive out there?
I know oaks are good for a lot of variable, extreme conditions, but I am not sure out there, I ask because I have about 100 small threes started in plastic containers and I would like to try and grow them there...
Also, what about the fauna/ hunting situation there?
We are not hunters, but would like to shoot a buck for meat every once in a while.
Our visits will be on the regular basis starting next year, at least once a month, so it would be nice to start meeting Our future neighbors ahead of time.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and the patience too.
Whatever We can do to help You
Joe Rodriguez Phone number 713-8784033
or can e-mail to: jrodriguez@mustangcat.com ( please make sure is a "G" in rodriguez)
Thanks again for all the information posted and future.
Have a good day.

Chico does fencing (at least he used to) . He's in the Dell City phone book under Raphael Gomez. Cell phones do work out here but mostly only if they're ATT/Cingular. Just where your property is located will determine if your phone works or not.

HEEEY Larry, how you doing?
For those of you that don't know, Whizzers lives about a mile and a half to my north east.
As for the question about hunting out here. The Antelope out are legally concidered by the State to be the property of the ranchers of the land that they are on, and you DON'T qualify as a rancher to the State of Texas.
If you are going to shoot anything out here, you will need a licence, and about the only thing out here to shoot is the grouse, (not many), the dove , cottontail rabbits, GREATLY outnumbered by the Jackrabbits, and the very occaisional Javalina. When I want to pop a Deer, I go to the Texas hill country.
As far as Cell coverage is concerned, Whizzers is right, it depends on where you are at. There is only one cell tower in all of the northern half of Hudspeth County, and that is over by Dell City.
Glad to have you out here, WELCOME. Brie

Joe (NADA Ranch). You will not have a hard time getting work in the Dell City area if you are a diesel mechanic. My brother-in-law and myself were in Dell City not long ago. He is a retired "Cat/diesel" mechanic. When the folks (ranch/farm related) found out he was a diesel mechanic, they were pretty excited. Besides the farm equipment, a lot of the motors for the irrigation pumps are diesel. I am sure they can use your skills. I think it will be just a matter of introducing yourself to the locals and word of mouth.

As for your property, I think you are south of me somewhere. Are you off of Lynch Road or Guitar Road?

Enjoy the solitude out there! I will be interested in what you put up. Doc/Bob

mee...I liked your post above. I am glad to see you go your deposit back...what Darren E. Zuppardo was selling was allot sh*t...Zuppardo is a absolute lire, nothing he did was correct and I hope they burn his ass.

By the way....Darren, I hope to visit you in jail where you belong, I am confident that day will come. In all of our glory, lets not forget the master mind behind it all "Rodney Bell" Jerry's #1 guy....he should be brought to justice as well...if for nothing else, having two SS#'s.

"I'm That Good" was Darren's favorite saying as a put down to those he worked with....I'm sure his cell mate will take that saying over....
Anyone purchasing real estate from Darren Zuppardo should beware or do nothing at all.
hey do you no anyone in volved in the propertys darren zuppardo had been selling.pensacola girl

Default Adobe

Mayb its too late but if anyone ever needs Adobes again, there is a business near El Paso who manufactures "REAL" Adobes..not the cheap ones. This is a real business that strives for excellence. De La O Adobe Brick Manufacturing located in Anthony, NM. On the NM / TX border, mayb about a 25-30 minute drive from the East Side of EL Paso. There number is 575-882-5278. They are in the phone book.

Thanks

Hello to all of you out there. I have read this thread from start to finish. I own land over off of Rt. 1437 just east of it and about 6 miles south of DC. I m hoping to move out there soon (or as soon as I can retire -lol) I will be coming out in April to look at it - its been a few years and cant help but notice how many people on this thread have land out in that neck of the woods. I sure hope that the area is not becoming what Im getting away from (just kidding - think it would take years to get that way) Look forward to meeting some of you in the near future and sharing a steak or 2. (By the way, Im a truck driver, crane operator, rigger/ diesel mechanic and have been for years. Hoping to find some work nearer than El Paso) Be well everyone!!

Default varnner

Does any on this page know anything about a man named Ron Varnner, who is supposed to be a land broker out around Dell City and Cornudas Tx? I would appreciate any info you may know that you could pass on to me.

Thanks
Bob

I made a mistake on the name, it should be Ron Bonner, he is supposed to be with United Property Sales.

Thanks for any info.
