Thanks for the confirmation Brie on Liz's property. I thought about referencing you, but deleted it. The next time I am in the area I may try to look you up...which will be in the not too distant future. Were you in the Hudpeth County Journal a couple of months ago regarding a fly-in at Dell City? I have an on-going subscription to the journal and I think I saw something on you then. I am away from home at the present (Thanksgiving), but I will check the papers when I get back to what I call home at the present. Like you, I am retired military...prefer to be away from it all and want to have my little piece of heaven in the few years I have left. The Guadalupes were my draw...have been going there since the mid-50s, but as I get older I want to explore the desert to the west of the Guadalupes. I hope to meet you in the future. Take care...Doc/Bob

I was one of the ones who invested in W.T. USA. Durran zuppardo was just giving me crap. He would say one thing then another. To keep it short, when things started to get fishy I immediately pulled out and got my deposit Back ($10500) luckily I didn't proceed with financing and got my money back. I still have all emails saved of conversations we had and all ths Sh*T he was giving me. Anyone planning to invest with them BEWARE!--mee.

----

mee...I liked your post above. I am glad to see you go your deposit back...what Darren E. Zuppardo was selling was allot sh*t...Zuppardo is a absolute lire, nothing he did was correct and I hope they burn his ass.

By the way....Darren, I hope to visit you in jail where you belong, I am confident that day will come. In all of our glory, lets not forget the master mind behind it all "Rodney Bell" Jerry's #1 guy....he should be brought to justice as well...if for nothing else, having two SS#'s.

"I'm That Good" was Darren's favorite saying as a put down to those he worked with....I'm sure his cell mate will take that saying over....
Anyone purchasing real estate from Darren Zuppardo should beware or do nothing at all.

Pulled this post from Resort Properties Task Force. Sounded very familiar. Like I said in an earlier post....If your going to buy real estate from Darren E Zuppardo, you better beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Darren is from New Orleans, LA, I think???

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I almost purchased a lot from darren zuppardo - glad i did not! for those that lost out....here's one of darren's sales pitches he put on me----too good to be true, i heard that somewhere.

Hi,
Phase 1 of our lot project has sold out. However phase 2 has been released and we feel very confident in the direction that we are planning to proceed. Our company is planning to offer to all of the purchasers of the 20 acre lots a buy back agreement.

The way this agreement works is simple. We will buy the property back from you at a 150-200% profit on your end after we have pre-sold an average of 50% of timeshare for your land. We project that this will happen in a 3 to 6 month time frame however we do not guarantee it.

Our company is moving allot of our developments to timeshare and we are very excited about it. The new lots in phase 2 sell for $100,000 requiring a $5,000 down payment. With that you will receive 1 week of timeshare that can be used anywhere in the world, a $20,000 value.

Phase 2 is already selling at a record breaking rate and will sell out fast. Please email me with a phone number where you can be reached so we can discuss this further.

Feel free to call me direct at 504-722-XXXX.

Thank You,
Darren Zuppardo

Bob,
Yes, I was in an issue about two years ago. I, and my friends Therese Bur, (Tee), And Jim Kemp are all in a more recent issue that was done two or three weeks ago. It is a story that has a photo of an AN-2 Colt Biplane, and one of me with one of my planes on the front page.
I would love to meet you, let me know when you are coming, and I'll throw some steaks on the grill. Brie

Well I have a news flash for ANYONE wanting to buy anything out here. The place is GREAT, the people are real friendly, and land IS available, just DON'T buy ANYTHING from Darren, or anyone else that has anything to do with Wallace.
I LIVE out here, and Wallace and those people he associated with are not developing ANYTHING. To date, it still looks the same as when they left to go back to wherever they came from.
If you want land out here, COME OUT, look for yourself, find "real people" to deal with, kick back, and enjoy. Brie

Brie...I think I found you on Googel Earth...west of 1111 and south of 62/180 off of what appears to be a north and south dirt road. The runway runs east/west. I am interested in your solar/windtricity setup. When I get out there I will also be interested to see how you cleared the land...made it work for you. You did a lot of clearing to make the runway. I have a tractor and bushog, but I am thinking of harrowing the ground or ??? I have a little over 20 acres, and I want to clear part of it for my living space when I am there.

Although snakes are abundant in the area, have you seen many on your place? I have been hiking the area (mostly Guadalupes) for many years, and although I can tell my fair share of snake stories, I have not seen very many per mile hiked..although I am sure many were not far away...not seen!

I will let you know when I am headed that way. No need to put steaks on the grill. I am more of a fish and fruit/veggie person. BTW, right now I call Del Rio home...still working for the Air Force as a civilian although I am retired military. That will change in 3 to 5 years when I retire again...and spend more time in the Dell City area. Doc/Bob

Bob,
I had Chico cut the runway for me with his grader. In exchange, I'm going to help him build an ultralight that he can fly in formation with Tee, Jim, and I when we go places together.
I have only seen six or eight snakes out here in the last two years, all of which provided me with target practice.
About the runway deal I have with Chico. There is a LOT of barter that goes on out here, it's how a lot of stuff gets done.
I do fish/rice/fruits and veggies real well. I lived in American Samoa for two years, and Makaha, Oahu, Hawai'i for two years. Living on a Cabin Cruiser on the Gulf Coast of Florida for five years was pretty cool too. Brie

Man did I call this one.. I knew when a man from Florida started talking about all his ideas out here near El Paso, he was doomed for failure.. and so will this El Paso native who is gonna try to do something similar. Save your money and invest it in something worth it..

With Gas on the rise, and the bottom falling out of real estate.. you have got yo be kidding yourself if you think this has a snow balls chance in hell of succeeding. But hey good luck if you invest.. and good luck getting your money back if you bought when ol'Wallace was here.

Thumbs up Cornudas Burger

I was just Googling "CORNUDAS CAFE" and found this forum. I wanted to send a link to some friends that will be passing through Cornudas (yes, I will still call it that) on their way to Yuma, AZ for the winter.

I'm one of those old truckers (at least I was in a supporting role) that used to stop by for the Cornudas Burger, when ever I passed through there, while escorting an oversized load. You may recognize one of the photos on my company web page at FINN'S FLAG CARS, NATIONWIDE OVERSIZE LOAD ESCORTING

Sometimes we had to stay there in front for the night,as we couldn't make it through El Paso before dark with our load and make it to the Flying J at Anthony. That meant we also got to have some of that great breakfast that was served there at the Cornudas Cafe, I remember one of the gals asking me if I really wanted a full stack of pancakes and answering yes, only to be surprised by the steak platter sized huge stack of pancakes, that I couldn't finish...I learned after that one!!

So am I right in assuming that the Cornudas Cafe is no longer open for business at this time? Inquiring minds want to know, since I'm retired now, but I'm touring the country in a Blue Bird Wanderlodge now. Check out; FOR MORE DETAILS ABOUT MY BLUE BIRD WANDERLODGE CLICK ON "NEXT" AT THE RIGHT, OR JUST CLICK ON THE IMAGE TO SEE THE THUMBNAILS, photo - iamflagman photos at pbase.com

Thanks for any information,
