Default If you were looking for house by water to rent

where would that be

I have been looking at couple of sites--we think we might rent a house for week--maybe 4 days--depending on what is vailable -- we might have more than just us (2) if my SIL or sister or a friend and her daughter and her little boy come--so need at least a 2/2--maybe 3/3-- or 4/3--like bed/bath that go together--just depends on what is still available ...

there are plenty of lakes and homes by larger rivers--of course many of them are rented--we always wait until the last minute

just some info on how busy the water traffic might be during the week in the summer--if you have some real time experience with that

any areas where the drinking water tastes bad and you need bottled or where the quality of the water in the lake/river is not good enough for the occasional swim

we are thinking to say in TX and not venture to OK or ARK although they both have pretty lakes...

if you have dealt with any rental agencies as well would appreciate that--I have used VRBO in the past and been pleased with what we rented so that is the first place I looked at...
there used to be more houses by the rivers like Blanco, San Marcos, and Guadalupe but this time noticed lots of condos in certain spots--and we want some yard space...
