Can I live in a quality house or apartment in Tyler, Tx with bad credit??
Hello all,
I am originally from the East Texas area, Lufkin, Tx. I currently live in Dallas, Tx. I have lived in Tyler for two years in the past. So I know about the Tyler area, and my wife is from Whitehouse, Tx. I just accepted a teaching position at Palestine High School this coming fall so I need to move pretty soon. I do not won't to live in Palestine and I know Tyler is almost an hour away...I'm also thinking about living in Jacksonville, TX.
The problem I have right now is I don't have the best credit. I made a huge mistake five years ago and moved out on an apartment complex in Fort Worth, Tx, I moved out early well before my lease was over. It is now on my credit and I owe the apartment complex, I have put it on a payment plan..but many places will not accept anyone who owes another apartment complex. I have lived in Dallas for two years at the same apartment complex, never been late on rent, never missed one payment. But apartments don't look at that.
I basically have to deal with individuals renting out property...I dare not try to buy a house right now...lol...not until I get my credit together...I'm tired of being rejected and I don't want to pay a bunch of money to move into a rent house or duplex. I have a set amount I wan't to pay monthly but I am flexible. I just don't won't to get broke. I wan't to be in a quality neighborhood in a quality community and house or apartment because I am a quality person...I just need a second chance and I'm not getting it.....does anyone have any suggestions.....I've been on craigslist...numerous internet searches but I still haven't found what I'm looking for. I need to move in the next month and I have no clue where I will stay or where I can stay.

Why don't you get your wife or family member to co sign for you till you can get caught up?
Bad credit means bad credit anywhere you go...it follows you unfortunately.

and if you are a teacher learn the difference between contractions that use ' (appostrophes) and possessive forms like Roy's house--and stop using
won't
when you mean
want
as in "I do not WANT to live in Palestine"

Ease up loves.
You know as well as anyone that the fingers and the brain don't always work together while typing.
Also, since you're criticizing ... you misspelled apostrophe.

I have been an English teacher and often make errors typing in these forums. I never see them until they are posted, however. I think everyone thinks faster than they type. (Or should I say, "...everyone thinks faster than he or she types.) If it were a formal thesis or paper, I would spend more time checking things, but I don't spend that kind of time on these short answers to forum topics.

I think loves2read missed the point of my message and seems to very judgemental. I teach Health, not english. I think you should start a forum criticizing people and correcting their grammar...lol.

I don't criticize and judge people and their grammar. Lord knows, as soon as I do, I will make the same error in my next post.

This was totally uncalled for, rude, beside the point, and absolutely goes against the grain of what should be expected of Texas manners.
As JA pointed out, all of us make grammatical mistakes when posting in forums. We are not exactly writing senior themes or term papers.
I am not trying to "gang up" up on you, Loves2read. You have written some very good and insightful and articulate posts here. And I have very much enjoyed reading them. At the same time though (being the first to admit my opinion and a dollar buys a cup of coffee), I just don't understand the reasons why some seem to publicly play the grand judge English teacher and correct another poster for things that don't amount to a hill of beans in the subject matter nor context. Especially when there is no good reason whatsoever for it. Of course, the poetic justice is that those who do it usually end up the victims of their own lecture and production.
NOT trying to be didactically flip at all...I have no right nor desire to be...just to note that those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...
