Default Texas State Snack

Once again, one actually exists. It is Tortilla chips and Salsa (love 'em), but gotta get more opinions.

AND..this really WILL be the last one I do today!

Miss Belle, I honestly DID think of including that one on the list! I decided against it because it was listed on another thread/poll. But DEFINITELY can it be considered a favorite snack type food in Texas.

Damn, sometimes these poll ideas and items are harder work than what it might appear. I count without pausing for breath the bakers dozens number of times/reasons/items I have messed up on these last two days! LOL

LOL, I consider tortilla chips and salsa an appetizer. Yep, I'm a cheapo, hahahahahaha! But I figure why BUY an appetizer when the chips and salsa are free?!

I second chips & salsa. Fresh, homemade salsa, preferably.

I mostly agree! Boiled peanuts are definitely more common to the Deep South states west of the Mississippi than they are in Texas! I listed "boiled/salted together though for brevities sake! And distinctions could (rightfully) be made!

In this case the fact that salted in-shell peanuts are for sure a favorite in Texas!

Ahhhhh, Casey, podner, if only ALL this stuff (ranging from state dish to bread to drink to side dish to snack) could be laid out, unlimited, along a picnic table, and us all be able to dig in! Eat what yew want, leave what you want, but it be their for the pickins'

Telling them good ol' stories, true or not. (although a Texan NEVER lies, we just stretch the truth a little!). Especially and maybe just maybe, as it got dusky dark, some lightning bugs came out to visit and eat with us?

AND of course, later, when the reunion broke up, take a HUGE plate back home, covered in tinfoil (tinfawl), and enjoy, all relaxed in the sack in bed later while watching some of them good Texas movies!

Now, wouldn't THAT be "When I Die, Lemme Go To Texas"? scene?

Smiles. God Bless TEXAS!
