Where is that new show Black Gold filmed? I know its in West Texas but it never says.

you sure could not use the landmarks to narrow down the location
my husband works in oil and gas--his company has done busines with a couple of the people in the show
and the guy at his company who oversees their drilling rigs is not as nice as the guys they showed last night--
time is money and nobody wants to lose money even with oil/gas as high as it is....

I don't know where it is either specifically. I watch it cuz it's in Texas  and I know someone who is a roughneck on a natural gas rig in Tarrant County. |

I'm not real sure I've worked pretty much the whole permian basin oil patch in the pipeline industry. But it looks so much the same from Hobbs to Sprayberry and McCamey to Levalland with the short glimpses you get of the country side. But the bar looked like Dios Amigos on the west side of Odessa. And yes I have seen most of those out there too !!!  LOL |

I have heard that the rigs are south of Odessa and I agree with the idea that the bar was Dos Amigos. I actually love the show. the guys crack me up

Your right welder1 it is filmed just south of Odessa near Hwy 385 and FM 1787. JamesAblene it is on TNT Wedensdays at 9:00PM. I will be looking forward to watching this series. It's made by the same folk who did DEADLEST CATCH. |

Sorry!!!  I gave the wrong network it tis on TRUtv channel 246 on Direct TV. Dont' know about Dish or cable. But it is on tonight at 9:00 central. |

It is filmed in Upton County or Reagan County I think.
I've met some of the people with ExL that are shown.
The show is definately not realistic. I have a feeling a lot is staged for entertainment.
