Obama will win. Of that there is no doubt. Whithin one year, look for :
1) Immediate amnesty of 20 Million+ illegals, and subsequent voter registrations for all of them
2) Complete dissoultion of the US - Mexico border
3) Removal of "In God We Trust" from all currency
4) The "Fairness Doctrine", that OUTLAWS Christian Radio broadcasting
5) Complete surrender in Iraq
6) Complete capitulation to all anti-American UN policies
7) "Reparation" give-away payments to all non white people in the US
8) Total ban and confiscation of all citizen owned firearms (Obama even voted to outlaw HOME SELF DEFENSE! Look it up!)
9) Massive welfare, medical and other Socialist programs
10) Al Gore a cabinet member, massive Carbon Tax on Americans (except the "poor" who wont have to pay)

And there you have The Obamessiahs first year.
1. Mccain was cosponsor of the amnesty bill...so i see no difference in the candidates here.
2. Mccain supports NAFTA, so no difference.
3. doubt it
4. wont happen...maybe support of a hate crime law...but not this now
5. i even doubt this one...maybe a slow withdrawal
6. probably...we need to get out of the UN now
7. not sure about this one
8. this is a major concern...probably the only thing i like about mccain...even if he has voted against guns in the past
9. yep...of course mccain will continue the war in iraq and the middle east forever and increase our empire-style spending
10. maybe...however mccain would do the same thing or at least give authority to the UN's climate panel

Like you, i dont like either candidate. I really dont see many differences of consequence in the two candidates. Their policy differences seem to balance each other out. Mccain will spend like crazy overseas fighting pointless wars, Obama will spend money here with pointless and destructive social programs. This is why i am voting bob barr. I encourage people to not vote for the lesser of two evils (whoever that may be).

that was a very rational well thought out post. i don't trust or like mccain and don't know enough yet about obama. i'm afraid that once i start hearing about both candidates taking my hard earned money and giving it to families with kids and the poor that i will hate them both. since texas is not even remotely a swing state, i just might vote my conscience this time around and vote for bob barr too. i would like obama to win though because this country needs a big change in the way that things are going.

I distrust and dislike both these Jokers. What has happened that we can scare up a decent candidate for this country? Really disturbing. Will probably just do a write in at the booth.

that is what i dont understand-why couldnt they find better candidates? there are alot of fine people in this country. for the first time, i am apathetic and ambivelent about the presidential election. it's pretty sad.
i say Ross Perot ought to run on an Independent ticket.

Believe me, I feel the same way.....BUT...and this is a biggie.....if McCain picks a decent VP that has a good chance in 2012, it might make it easier to vote for him. What I will be doing in the voting booth this year is voting AGAINST Obama. It is your choice, of course, but any third-party vote pulls votes away from McCain, and will probably enable Obama to win.

I shake in my boots at the thought. I really, really do. I just see McCain as the lesser of the evils, as liberal as he is.

If Obama wins, and with Reid and Pelosi in charge of Congress, - well that gives me nightmares. Nuff said.

No matter what any of you say Texas is going Red in 2008.

Although Obama could do a lot to improve the US image abroad, which is very good for business, there's a serious risk of getting "Jimmy Carter Mach II".

The president is not a monarch. Even if Obama were the communist loon you are making him out to be, the executive branch cannot unilaterally write law and change the constitution out of thin air. Thats why you hear when the president "calls on congress" to act on something, but in the end the ball is in their court. Otherwise gay marriage would now be constitutionally banned and social security would be privatized, among other things.

The president can veto, frame the debate, heads the executive branch, is the commander of the millitary, shapes foreign policy, but the congress writes laws. High school government 101.

Not a lot you can count on with politics and crazy politicans, but one thing you can definitely count on this year is the fact that if Obama does get into office, you will definitely see change. Bear in mind, change means just what it says, doing things differently, not necessarily for the better or worse, just differently, which in turn will leave it status quo, worse, or better. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm sure not banking on it staying status quo or getting better. That only leaves the other alternative and that's what I fear we will be in for. But by golly, it will be change that Obama says we need and people seem to be clamoring for. Beware, you might just get what you wished for.

I agree, Cathy4017, that if McCain can manage to pick a viable VP, I may vote for him. And it would be voting for the lesser of two evils. I personally like Bobby Jindall (R-La), but he is very young. Noone else to date. Obama will be a travesty and tragedy on the land, and would just hope and pray we survive his marxist regime. Truly we will get what we deserve if we are stupid and short sighted enough to put this dangerous and corrupt politician into the White House.
